Saddam's Court Day

On July first, two thousand four, Saddam Hussein al-Majid al-Tikriti was escorted into an Iraqi court on thursday. For Iraqi history its was a new chapter. Now before Saddam Hussein al-Majid al-Tikriti appeared in front of a judge, he looked a lot skinnier than before. Saddam Hussein al-Majid al-Tikriti had the bravery spirit to defend him against "the proceedings unfolded." He was so overconfident of himself that he responded to the judge "I am Saddam Hussein, the president of Iraq." The preliminary charges was that Saddam Hussein al-Majid al-Tikriti was faced by "the killing of religious figures in 1974; gassing of Kurds in Halabja in 1988; killing the Kurdish Barzani clan in 1983; killing members of political parties in the last 30 years; the 1986-88 ''Anfal'' campaign of displacing Kurds; the suppression of the 1991 uprisings by Kurds and Shiites; and the 1990 invasion of Kuwait." As well as for the next degree of the next few months due to these are not formal charges and the beginning of the introductory phase of the investigation against Saddam Hussein al-Majid al-Tikriti. Saddam Hussein al-Majid al-Tikriti defended Iraq's invasion of Kuwait in the year 1990, claiming that he was still president and was apparently dejected the court's jurisdiction.

Why did they take so long with the arrest of saddam?
Why was it in Iraq?
Who captured Saddam in the first place?
